Attention Customers with Special Size Filters
Pure Air may cut down a standard size OR put two different filters together to make a special size.
If you see tape on your filter and the manufacturer size printed on the filter is incorrect, please do the following before bringing the filter back:
- Measure the filter and check the sales order
- Check all 4 sides of filter for handwritten marker or sticker

Standard Size Filters
When looking to replace your air filter, there are typically two different sizes you need to understand -EXACT size and NOMINAL size.
What you might not realize is that filters are NOT sold by their actual dimensions but instead a NOMINAL size. The NOMINAL size is the larger labeled measurement you see listed on the product and what you look for when buying your replacement filter.
The EXACT size of the filter is the true dimensions of the filter when you measure the length, width, and depth (thickness). The EXACT size typically includes a fraction number with the dimensions-for example: 19 ½ x 19 ½ x ¾; or decimals.
NOMINAL size: 20 X 20 X 1
EXACT size: 19 1/2 X 191/2 X 3/4
Special Size Filters
Special size filters are any filter size not considered a “standard size” by industry standards.
When purchasing a special size filter keep in mind:
- Pure Air will cut and cap in-house each Special size filter to the EXACT dimensions you provide.
- If the filter you currently have lists whole numbers; measure the filter for the EXACT-size.
- There is no industry standard for under-sizing; the filter could be under- sized by 1/4, ½, 3/4
- EXACT measurements are key to a successful Special size filter purchase.
Fibrix Media – Trade & Residential
We sell two types of media from Fibrix:
1” and 2” blue and white MERV 5, 30 days
1” and 2” Orange and white, tackified, MERV 8, 30 day
Rolls are cut to size from a master roll (100”x90’)

High Efficiency/HEPA – Trade Only
Filters are engineered & constructed for providing ultra-clean air. Applications include protecting clean rooms, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, food industries. Tested with Automated Test Rig as per EN 1822 standards and supplied with Test certificates.
Inquiries must be sent to info@pafilters.com with pictures of label that has all necessary information to cross reference, i.e. size and construction code.
